No. If anything, they are less tolerant because NYE is "amateur night out". Very dangerous as people who haven't had a drink all year decide to drink, dance with a lampshade on their head, and then top it all off by driving home. NYE is alcohol-centric, so if you know you are going to drink, do it strategically by drinking anywhere where you don't have to drive home because there is likely not to be a designated driver on NYE.
