In Florida, PIP follows the person, regardless of the car they are in. If you are injured while riding as a passenger in a friend's car, your PIP applies to you, you friend's PIP applies to them. PIP is only for medical treatment or lost wages up to $10,000. Your question has a lot of ways I could go with it, and if there is any specific scenario other than what I've described that you want to know, please let me know.

Letters of protection are standard for doctors who are going to be involved with a personal injury claim. This is for REASONABLE bills. You can always dispute a bill if you and your attorney feel they are being unreasonable. In terms of who gets paid first, I always tell my clients that in accordance with the STATEMENT OF CLIENT'S RIGHTS that you should have signed, you have to approve all distributions (including your attorney's fee) before anyone gets paid. The bottom line is you need to...

I'm a good personal injury lawyer :). I'm sure everyone on here would say they are. Seriously though, you need to speak with someone as soon as possible to give you guidance. I would not recommend just putting a message like that on a site like this. Ask around, and find out who has done well for your family, friends. Look on here at the ratings and evaluations other say about the lawyers. Good luck.

You have the right to switch attorneys at any time, especially if you are being ignored. If you are not satisfied, hire another attorney. However, you will have to terminate your relationship with the other lawyer before signing a new contract with new counsel. I would make sure this is really what you want to do before you make the switch. I would call your current lawyer one more time and let them know if they don't respond, you will be getting a new attorney.

I agree with some of the lawyers below. Try to set up an appointment with your lawyer and voice your concerns. If you still can't get in touch with the lawyer, you always have the right to switch attorneys. However, before you do this, you should at least attempt to work things out with your current lawyer. "Slamdunk" is a tough description for a legal case. If there is not enough liability insurance, even if you have a great case, the money available for recovery may be limited or non-...

You certainly can. Loss of use is compensable (rental car) as well as Diminished Value. Diminished Value is You may have never heard of Diminished Value is the loss of value to your vehicle due to it being involved in an accident. Showing an accident on a "Car Fax" or similar report will cause your vehicle to be worth less and this person or their insurance company is responsible for paying for those damages. Insurance companies get away without paying these claims because the public...

If you don't have uninsured motorist coverage, it appears your remedy is limited to personal injury protection benefits to seek medical care. If there is no insurance on the part of the vehicle that hit you or the driver of that vehicle, it is very difficult to collect for a personal injury claim. Your only hope would be if the driver has his own policy. Do you have any knowledge of this? All Florida drivers are required to have this PIP/No fault coverage that affords you $10,000 of...
