Description: Robert Monk was killed, despite wearing his seatbelt, when the valve stem of his rear tire failed catastrophically, leading to a sudden and unexpected tire blowout. His vehicle became uncontrollable and rolled over. Robert was survived by his wife, who was pregnant with their first child. Investigation uncovered a systemic problem with all valve stems imported from China by Dill. Aggressive and immediate litigation resulted in policy limits tender by Dill's insurers and most importantly, a total recall of over 30 Million defective valve stems in the United States.
