    Description:
In this case I represented a lawful permanent resident (green card holder) who had become removable as a result of one criminal conviction. The conviction was for a non-violent violation of a restraining order. The Immigration Judge denied bond, but after I demonstrated my client's extensive ties to this country, his support of his two children, his high level of education, and his good moral character, the judge exercised his discretion to allow my client to keep his green card. Client is now in the process of applying for citizenship.
