In Georgia, where I practice (and probably in most states) you can change from one attorney to another simply by notifying that attorney in writing that you no longer require his or her services. Typically (at least in Georgia) if an injured employee fires one attorney and then hires another one, the first attorney may (or may not) file a lien against the workers' compensation claim for services already provided.
