If you want to assert a claim against DOT or the State of Alabama you must file a timely ante litem noitice. If your insurance paid for the damage, then it is their claim now, not yours. Steve Apolinsky Apolinsky & Associates, LLC steve@aa-legal.com aa-legal.com
Terribly sorry about your situation. I don't practice in Tennessee, but you should consult a lawyer to see if there is a case. One name I have seen is Morgan Adams. I don't know him, but he seems to have a good reputation. Good luck and my heartfelt condolences. Steve Apolinsky, steve@aa-legal.com

Your parents should notify their insurance carrier. The carrier will assign a lawyer to represent their interest. I am not a California lawyer, but your parents should definitely consult with a local attorney. There are a number of factors to determine whether they are potentially liable for your accident. Best of luck. Steve@aa-legal.com

I am not a Michigan lawyer, but if faced with a similar situation in Georgia, I would name her in the bankruptcy petition just to be safe, Easy for the person to find a lawyer and to file a lawsuit even if they are not ultimately successful. Good luck and sorry about your situation. Steve Apolinsky

I am not licensed to practice in Pa, but if this happened in Georgia, I would advise contacting the State Bar to see what your rights are. The Code of Professional Conduct sets forth a lawyers obligation to zealously represent a client. However, the lawyer is entitled to use his/her judgment in handling a case. Good luck. Steve

I don't practice law in Virginia, but you don't have to report such an incident here in Georgia. Steve@aa-legal.com
I am not familiar with the facility and I don't practice in AZ, but if it were in Georgia, I would research the courthouse records in the city or county where it is located. You should also consider contacting a lawyer who is a member of the Arizona Trial Lawyers Association to see if he or she can post the question on the list serve (again, we have one here, but not sure about AZ). Good luck! Steve@aa-legal.com
I am not licensed to practice in TN, but you should consult a Probate lawyer or a lawyer who does wills and trusts to explain whether you are entitled to a portion of the recovery. Good luck. Steve
