Jason Pettie has substantial experience as both a consumer bankruptcy attorney and as a business bankruptcy attorney, having represented both debtors and creditors in cases filed under chapters 7, 11, and 13 of the Bankruptcy Code. In 2008, Jason was appointed to the panel of chapter 7 trustees in the Northern District of Georgia; in addition, he has served as a chapter 11 trustee.
Jason began his legal career with the bankruptcy group at Smith, Gambrell & Russell, LLP, one of Atlanta’s oldest law firms. He left in 2007 to pursue a judicial clerkship with the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern and Western Districts of Arkansas, serving terms for the Honorable Audrey R. Evans and Chief Judge Richard D. Taylor. Jason received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Virginia, and he graduated from the Howard University School of Law with honors.
