Verbal contract

It depends on a number of details that were not in your question, but generally if you have mutual assent, consideration and no defenses to formation then a verbal contact can be a valid contact in the State of Georgia.

Breach of contract

Did you have a consignment agreement with the shop? If so it sounds like you likely have a breach of contract claim. If the vendor is not willing to uphold their obligations under the agreement, you should contact a local attorney and have them write a letter for you. If that does not work you could sue, but watch your costs closely it may end up costing you more then the furniture is worth.

The short answer is it depends. Yes in certain situations an employer could require you to use your paid vacation time prior to using other types of leave. However there are some situations where an employer must allow you unpaid leave regardless of you vacation time balance. You need to look at your company policy.
