Worst representation I've ever had!

I was a client of Paul Taylors in a custody case. I will regret that decision for the rest of my life for the following reasons. 1. He over-billed me. He billed me for services he did not render. He hired a Private Investigator without my consent. 2. He wouldn't return my phone calls for weeks ...then he relocated his office and never told me after I retained him for services. 3. I specifically asked him about affidavits for my court hearing and he said "NO" the Judge won't allow it. Then, the day of the hearing the Judge asked if I had any affidavits and he shook his head and said, No your Honor, when in fact I did. (I thought this was strange when he said the Judge said I couldn't in the first place) The Judge looked at me angrily and shook her head. I felt totally blind-sided! 4. The day of the hearing the Judge asked me to take the stand and questioned me and Paul never told me that the Judge was going to do this to prepare me. 5. He would send letters to me and tell me in writing, YOU NEED TO SIGN NOW!! (For issues that he didn't explain.) Thank God that I didn't. 6. He would take personal calls from his wife when I had an appointment with him to discuss my case and he would bill me for the time he was talking with her. 7. The worst thing that I experienced was when I was threatened by Paul Taylor in mediation, my husband was a witness to this when Paul told me if I didn't sign over custody to my ex-boyfriend that I would never see my daughter again. 8. Lastly he filed that order from mediation without me being present when I told him on a notarized document that I wanted to talk to the Judge before anything had gone through and he didn't listen and put this paperwork through regardless of my wishes and now it's an order of the court. I luckily kept the paper trail and documentation of what I experienced after hiring Mr. Taylor and like I said it's a decision I would regret for the rest of my life! I miss my daughter every single day of my life that I don't see her or tuck her in bed at night. No parent should ever have to experience anything like this especially when I did nothing more than to love my daughter with all of my heart and soul.

Lessons Learned - Our extremely bad experience being represented by Robert Paul Taylor

Taylor represented us in a child support case in 2009 and was unprepared to enter the court room, even though, we discussed the case with him and provided him with all relevant facts. He took the retainer in October, promised to file the case immediately and we could not get him on the phone or talk ...to him in person for three months. In fact, he misstated case facts on two occasions in the court room. The opposing attorney ate his lunch in the court room and Taylor did not prepare us for any questions from the judge or attorney. With Taylor as our attorney, we were left in much worse shape with the Horry County court system, South Carolina Department of Social Services, my personal reputation and my professional reputation. We were at a disadvantage and the judge who sided with the plaintiff and imposed severe financial penalties on us. Please learn from our mistakes - do not hire this attorney.
