Having practiced law now for many years, I have discovered that a few legal maxims are indeed true: When you have an important legal matter at stake, always consult with an attorney. When you go to court, always be represented by counsel. When you choose an attorney, hire one with experience, and one who will gladly and competently try your case to a Judge or Jury, but also one who will be honest enough to tell you that there are often other workable solutions to your problem that might not be nearly as kind to a lawyer's pocket book.
I have been a member of the North Carolina State Bar since 1977, and appear in court nearly every week. I have come to enjoy family law cases, or any legal issue which directly affects any member of either an ongoing or dissolving family. That includes wills, trusts, estates, probate, real estate, personal property criminal, traffic, divorce, separation agreements, restraining orders, juvenile, child custody, post separation support, alimony and equitable distribution, to name a few. A family lawyer is one of the few people on earth, who truly hears and sees it all.
I believe a lawyer should strive to become an expert in his field, but that when a lawyer no longer concerns himself with "the justice of the thing", he has lost something fundamental to being a good lawyer.
My wish is for clients to understand their cases. I do not believe this view is necessarily shared by all lawyers, the rationale sometimes being that it is much too time consuming and unnecessary for the client to understand in order for the attorney to handle the case. But my experience is that the best and most just results tend to occur when the lawyer and client are reasoning together.
For years I have also charged perhaps one of the best prices in the state for an uncontested divorce, and usually will take care of this for you while you stay at home or on the job.
Please call Attorney Gary Isenhour at (336) 761-1062. I charge reasonable fees and often tend not to charge enough, to which practice my clients seldom object. I gladly quote fees in advance and return all calls promptly.
