Disappointing Representation — I Ultimately Changed Counsel

I retained Andy to represent me in a complicated legal matter, but ultimately decided to change attorneys because I was extremely dissatisfied with the representation I received. Throughout the representation, I repeatedly felt that my concerns and interests as his client were not being prioritize...d. In particular, I became increasingly uncomfortable with what I perceived as greater consideration being given to the neutral trustee and her position than to advocating for my interests as his client. Communication and advocacy did not meet my expectations, and I ultimately lost confidence in the attorney-client relationship. Changing counsel was not a decision I made lightly, but I no longer felt comfortable continuing the representation. This review reflects my personal experience and the reasons I chose to obtain different counsel. Based on that experience, I would not retain him again.

This is my first negative online review in 35 years of practicing law. I am surprised and disappointed it came from this client. I provided professional, timely and well-researched legal advice. I was available 24/7 by text, email and phone, including nights and weekends. I provided dozens of hours of free work in the year we worked together. Lawyers advise and recommend while clients decide. Unfortunately, this client repeatedly decided not to follow my advice, often to her detriment. I suggested she seek a second opinion from another attorney, which she considered but then chose not to do. Ultimately, I decided to withdraw as her counsel because it was no longer productive. At no charge to her, I facilitated her transition to a new attorney. At the end, she wrote to me: “It's been a pleasure working with you. Thank you for your assistance and efforts on my case. I wish you all the best in your future endeavors.” I stand by the work I did 100%. Her review is inaccurate and unfair. Nonetheless, I wish her all the best.
