How long will it take for me to recieve the 401k after my divorce is final

The transfer of the retirement assets does not happen automatically. Certain forms need to be completed to transfer IRA assets. As to other forms of retirement such as 401(K) and pension benefits, you must have a special order signed by the court and approved by the retirement plan administrator. Therefore, you must contact your lawyer to make sure the orders are prepared.
