I cannot say enough about how positive my experience was with Bruce Avery as my attorney. He is a calm and thoughtful person who is able to provide you with all the legal support you need without needlessly escalating the adversarial process or one's legal bills. He fights diligently and wisely on behalf of his clients. He was always personally and readily available to communicate with me and to provide clear-headed thinking during times of extreme stress. I have already recommended him to a friend.

Only had an initial consultation and it was dissapointing. The associate had confirmed that she would be able to represent me at a lower rate so I set up the intial consultation. I had to spend $200 to find out that the associate is new and can't represent me in my case. Leaves me thinking that he is just as money hungry as some other lawyers although he advertises to be compassionate. Why waste my time and money? It was interesting that the retainer the associate mentioned was 1/2 that of what Bruce asked for. Is this even ethical?
I decided to leave a review since after talking to top lawyers listed in the Washingtonian I felt that he was not as dynamic. I had to ask him all the questions (he wasn't making much effort) and it did not feel as informative as my consultation with some of the other lawyers like Linda Haspel and Shelly McKeon who charge about the same. I felt like I got nothing out of the initial consultation. Just a warning for others.
