Depending on the specific facts, you may also have a basis for a lawsuit against the university for violating your right to free speech, protected in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Generally, it is unconstitutional for an arm of the government (such as a state university) to punish, restrict, or burden speech based on its content.
