I completed 6 months in jail with immigration. Now what can I do to become a resident?

You must immediately seek an immigration attorney -- once you have been placed in Immigration Court, as apparently you have, your pending applications or those of your mother with the US Immigration and Citizenship Service will no longer be sufficient to give you legal status in the US. You must convince an immigration judge that your case is worthy of approval, and that is not simple.
