    • I recommend David Jones.
    • I hired David more than 3 years ago.
    • David handled my Bankruptcy / Chapter 7 matter.
    • I have previously worked with 3-5 lawyers.

He is knowledgable and up to date with all of the new revisions and stature that are constantly changing . He also wasnt interested in getting another client; he suggested the best for me and because of it I came out ahead and with less problems in the future. He is honest and confident in his work.

I was in need of a lawyer to handle my bankruptcy, due to a recent divorce. To complicate matters, I had just moved to Virginia from Wisconsin and was starting a new job. In my initial meeting, Mr. Jones asked me if I wouldn't rather find a lawyer closer to my home, rather than retain him. The question was posed, and my perception was, that he was more concerned about me and my convenience than taking on another paying case. That honesty and openess impressed me. Mr. Jones provided me with a 'bankruptcy kit' that I was able to use to provide him all of the information he needed to prepare the paperwork for filing. He had a list of counselors I could use to staisfy the required financial counseling and he was there with me at the trustee's meeting with creditors. When the Trustee filed an objection to my claim, Mr. Jones explained the what the objection was, how he would recommend handling it and, in the end, the Trustee withdrew the objection (thus costing me no additional money!) Mr. Jones kept me informed about my case throughout the process. He answered any and all questions I had concerning the bankruptcy, including those about the foreclosure on my home, which was listed as part of the bankruptcy. As a comparison, my ex-wife's bankruptcy lawyer told her he would have to charge her extra (I believe his fee was around $100 to $150 per hour, 1/2 hour minimum) in order to answer "any questions outside of the bankruptcy." Mr. Jones didn't play that game, which made a very difficult and emotional situation much easier for me. If I EVER have a need for a lawyer, for any reason, I will be contacting him first. If he doesn't happen to handle the type of law I may need, I will go with whomever he recommends. I will recommend David E. Jones, to anyone I meet that happens to express a need for a lawyer!
