  • Can someone post a video on you tube or social media, the names of witnesses that testified in court?

A friend of mine made a music video in effort expose the name of another friend who testified in court. Is there a law that prohibits this or is it a matter of public privilege?

While the names of witnesses are often public, it may depend of the type of case and if there are minors involved. If the matter is still pending, it is worth sending a letter to the judge or the judicial law clerk to alert them of the postings.
