I live in PA, I was stopped the car behind me was stopped. She was rear ended into me. My car was totaled.

I know it doesn't seem fair that you should have to get a loan. Unfortunately cars lose value so quickly once they are driven off the lot, this is not an uncommon problem. In the future you might want to look into gap insurance when you get a new car. This covers the difference between the value of the car and the amount you may owe on it. Many car companies provide this for free now. As far as your losses due to the accident, you really should consider hiring an attorney to assist you.

If the DMV appointment has no relationship to the car accident, you are correct, it doesn't seem fair that you should pay for anything related to it. Also, it isn't your fault she missed the appointment, it seems fair that you should only pay for the period that it would have cost had she not missed the appointment.
