He is a frequent speaker at professional seminars and universities. Mr. Missall is a member of the American, Washington State, King County, and Kitsap County Bar Associations. He is active in the Washington State Association of Municipal Attorneys and in WSBA Section matters, serving as a Chair of the Administrative Law Section in 1994-95. He has been on the Board of Directors for Seattle Goodwill Industries since 1997, serving as Secretary (2002-04), Vice-Chair (2004) and Board Chair (2005).
