About Me

Joann joined Deily & Glastetter in 2000. Before joining us, Joann was employed by a large New Jersey firm and focused on chapter 11 practice and bankruptcy litigation. Prior to that, she served as law clerk to the Hon. William F. Tuohey, United States Bankruptcy Judge.

Joann represents creditors, defendants and bankruptcy trustees in all types of bankruptcy litigation, including fraud-based actions, claim disputes and non-dischargeability actions and has acted as a discovery master in bankruptcy court. She also counsels lenders and borrowers in commercial loan transactions, negotiating and documenting working capital and term loans, and represents both plaintiffs and defendants in complex commercial litigation. Using her experience in bankruptcy and litigation, coupled with her understanding of commercial loans, Joann counsels lenders and borrowers in all phases of workout and debt restructuring matters.

Joann is a board member of the Northern District of New York Federal Court Bar Association. She is a past president of the Capital District Women’s Bar Association, and an active member of the Capital Region Bankruptcy Bar Association. Joann was also elected to join The Legal Project's Board of Directors in 2012 and serves as Chair of the Development Committee.

In January 2012, she was nominated by the Board of Judges for the NDNY Bankruptcy Court to the Standing Local Rules Committee. In December 2010 and again in 2014, Joann was appointed by the Chief Judge of the District Court for the Northern District of New York to serve a four-year term on the Panel of Attorneys Responsible for the Investigation and Prosecution of Attorney Disciplinary Complaints. Joann received the Capital District Women's Bar Association's 2007 Pro Bono Award and the Legal Project's 2005 Kurt Clobridge Award for her work providing legal advice to low-income clients. Joann completed the American Bankruptcy Institute's Mediation Training Program in December, 2011 and is a member of the United States District Court NDNY and the United States Bankruptcy Court NDNY mediation panel. She was named to Super Lawyers Upstate New York® in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 and 2014 and is a frequent lecturer on topics such as bankruptcy law, bankruptcy litigation, and distressed assets. Joann is a recent recipient of the 2015 Client Choice Award™ in the category of Insolvency & Restructuring presented by Lexology® and International Law Office®.
