The simple answer to your question is "No, you cannot get a divorce in North Carolina simply because one spouse is unhappy." North Carolina has what are called grounds. Grounds are a list of criteria which must be proved in a Court of law in order to obtain a divorce. All you need to do is prove one ground out of the ones offered in your state.
