Excellent Attorney

My family and I can’t say enough about Ms. Patricia Powis. She took excellent care of my family member and kept us up to date on her for many years. She is very professional, sensitive & caring lady. I would highly recommend her to help you with your loved one .

Forget this lawyer.

Tried to make arrangements with Patricia Powis concerning LTC. Spoke to her initially with a response we will contact you. Did she contact you? I got only one email stating that she was busy. Tried calling many times after that and still no response or follow up. If she can't even do this then ...what kind of service would I expect? I don't recommend this lawyer. There are plenty of good ones out there and she obliviously does not make a good impression. Maybe she was good a few years back since her reviews are 3 years ago, but not now.

Attorney

I retained Ms. Powis to handle a family guardianship matter. I have no knowledge or expertise in this field of law and had misgivings about the whole process. In addition, I had to adjust to being a client instead of the lawyer, an entirely new experience. Ms. Powis instantly made myself and my wif...e, also a lawyer, comfortable and secure in her vast knowledge and expertise, and she was responsive and on point to all my questions and concerns. In my experience, clients crave responsiveness and experience above all else, and this is what Ms. Powis provides. Even as important is her ability to communicate and advocate my position to the adversary attorney. I was especially impressed with her skills and expertise in the open court setting, and her years of experience advocating guardianship matters in the New York court system, with knowledge and familiarity with all the players involved. As an attorney myself, I can’t emphasize enough how important that is to clients and the outcome of their cases.

Malpractice

Patricia is a very professional and caring person. She communicated with me every step of the way of the process. She fought and helped my family.

Assisting with a Wrongful Death

To anyone who is debating whether to hire Patricia Powis: My name is Jose and when I was 20 I lost my mother due to medical malpractice. My father managed to start a case against the hospital but due to his inability to understand English, we became involved in a legal case that we had very littl...e understanding of and zero control over. Throughout the last 7 years this case was never completed. My father’s original lawyers were disinterested and omitted me from the record and did even realize that I was under 21 at the time of my mother’s passing. At the end of last year, my sisters and I were served the court documents of the settlement and given a chance to fight it. I did as much research as I could and decided to go to the first few hearings by myself and get an understanding of the case. Although I was present and called out of work to deal with the case, I was advised time and time again to get official representation if I wanted to be seen as a serious petitioner. From our first meeting Patricia showcased her compassion, her willingness to help and her incredible intellect. She is a fighter and it shows that she has a tremendous passion for her career and her clients. On our initial meeting her office was closed and she came in because I needed representation that very next day. When she met with me, she never once looked at the clock, she heard my story, analyzed the legal side of the case with me and took over with professionalism and experience. She became my voice and she was able to multiply my family’s disbursement and explain everything to me as it was happening. Over the years, my sisters and I have grown emotionally drained and anxious over the case, yet once Patricia entered the picture, our despair became hope and eventually immense gratitude when Patricia told us we had won. We are so grateful that we ended up crossing paths with Patricia and I am deeply appreciative of her work and time in a case that she could have otherwise dismissed. My family and I have never been more hopeful for our future and the success of this case after she took a personal stake in the case. Thank you, Patricia, for what you have done for my sisters, myself, and our future generations. To all her future clients, good job finding her, now let her do for you what she was able to do for us!
