  • Special Needs Planning

    Practice Area:
    Estate Planning
    Outcome:
Provided for future of adult disabled child
    Description:
Clients had adult child with special needs who was receiving needed government benefits. Together with my clients, we drew up a will, power of attorney, health care proxy, living will and supplemental needs trust. We reviewed the need for life insurance in order to fund the SNT appropriately. I helped choose an appropriate corporate trustee as there will be no family to administer the trust once the parents are disabled or deceased.Adult disabled child will not lose necessary public benefits. Parent's assets will be used as they intended, to ensure the comfort and care of their adult child and to help that child achieve independence.
