In NJ you can collect all your worker's compensation benefits, whether or not you work on the books or off. As long as you/your lawyer can prove employment, then you are legally entitled to medical care, temporary disability payments, and an award for any permanent disability under the statute.

It is a fairly common issue.

The problem may be in proving your rate of pay which will determine the disability rates.
