I was shopping at Stop and Shop where I do all the time. I always bring in my own bags and put my groceries in them as i go. I kind of have a thing where if 'it doesn't fit in my bags, I don't buy it' - keeps me from overpurchasing. Before I was d...
The other attorneys are correct. Only pay attention to court notices. However, do not throw the other letters out. Depending on who attempts to collect upon you and for what , you may have a cause of action against the collector under a Consumer Law statute. We gave my landlord 30 days notice. our roommate owes for 3 mon rent and is now refusing to pay. He is obnoxious and unbareable at this point and I can't keep paying for him. Landlord says if we go and he stays and doesn't pay that he will have to...
I agree with Attorney Shalvoy. I do not like to see people manipulated. After you move out, you could also pursue your deficient roommate for the back rent that he or she owes you. Please feel free to contact us with more questions or concerns.See question
Also we'd like to sue for compensations.
I would speak with Attorney Ilya Press.See question
My boss is nearly forcing me to sign papers stating i quit my job due to a back injury acquired in November 2013. I need some insight since this case has so many things to go off of.
I have many questions for you. How did you injure your back? Are you treating? Can you continue working despite the injury? Are you cleared by the doctors to work? Did you file for Workers compensation? Define, "nearly forcing". What is the alternative to signing? What do you get if you sign? Feel free to contact us for assistance.See question
I have never been contacted my the police either by phone or in person and I had no idea that I was on this list until my relative alerted me. I have no idea what's going on and don't want to get arrested, what should I do?
Connecticut has a wonderful judicial website that may or may not be able to shed some light on the charges. If you want to contact us with any personal information regarding this matter, we may be able to answer more of your questions. Please feel free to contact us.See question
I am 20, no other criminal history this is my first offense. I am also afraid because I am a legal resident so can this effect me obtaining my citizenship? And should I go through with paying the 300$ fine to Kmart?
Attorney Porter is very right. You should definitely show this letter to an attorney in your area. I have seen these letters often and can attest that you may be able to deal directly with Kmart or throught the criminal courts. The firms that put those letters out are generally bottom-feeding fringe debt collectors who do not have to worry about the FDCPA as this is not a consumer debt. Feel free to inquire further if we can help.See question
The door to the building of our apartment complex slams shut when you let it go. It slammed shut so fast and so hard, it cut off my dogs last vertebrae in her tail. There should be some sort of resistance or spring in the door to prevent it from s...
I agree with my colleagues, with one note. Courts generally treat animals as chattel which means that your animal is personal property and its feelings and your feelings are not generally taken into account. When monetizing the damages, the court will likely only assess the value of the dog based on its Fair Market Value which would factor in age, breed, etc. You may be able to get the vet bills taken care of if you can win. My colleagues have pointed out the weaknesses of your case of course.See question
Will this show on my record?
There is a way to restrict certain people from viewing you social media. Look at your settings and adjust them accordingly. I agree with the other attorneys and at the risk of sounding repetitive, it sounds as though the order is against you and your ex's actions do not violate it. Please feel free to contact us for more information.See question
no other details said it all in the question
If they are not your spouse this is entirely illeagal. Debt collectors cannot even reveal to another party other than your spouse that they are debt collectors. These are violations of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. You may be entitled to up to One Thousand Dollars paid to you as a penalty of the violation as well as attorney fees paid to your attorney. I have learned a little bit about this but would like to know how exactly to do this in CT? Thank you
You need a real estate attorney to handle the closing. This is a very large part of what my firm and I do. You may wish to look for competing prices. I would be happy to speak with you further about this transaction. Once you have an attorney and a buyer, there is very little else for you to worry about.See question
