At present Luke is working on two cases for me. From the onset he listened attentively, has an enthusiastic, optimistic personality, tempered with sound judgement based on his legal expertise and does further research as needed. He has a no nonsense approach. He took action decisively and quickly. ...As needed he may be changing the strategy due to extenuating circumstances and is clearly prepared to do so. I appreciate that he is open to my input, valued it utilizing a couple of my ideas based on my research, thus making for a harmonious relationship. He is perceptive and non-judgmental. He has been able to discern the opposition's deception and is taking decisive action as needed. He is forthright and follows through. He is responsive, returns calls and/or responds to emails in a timely manner. I am optimistic that both cases will end successfully with his expertise.

Luke accepted my case (which was already filed with the court) after my first lawyer had to withdraw...not a very good feeling, trust me. He sat down with me and after hearing everything and asking pertinent questions, he accepted me as a client and immediately went to work on my case. Luke was contacted to help me in a civil matter to acquire a judgement. We were able to settle on court day without presenting in front of the Judge for a reasonable amount to recoup most losses I sustained. Mr. Durham collected all pertinent data prior to the case and was prepared to proceed as plan...ned in the event we did have to go to bat. I did not get to see his style or skill set in the court room since we settled on what we were looking to accomplish prior to being seen by the judge. However, I do feel that he would have represented me well in that scenario as he had a professional demeanor to him. I was also a small time case and it wouldn't have been a difficult one due to the other party planning to represent pro se. On some occasions, lawyers will alter their attitude based on the client and how large/small the case is and or how much money is involved. Luke was good at ensuring that he was there to complete the task regardless of it being a small case in a small town. I did pay a set fee up front to Mr. Durham and that is a good way to go in the event the hearing is continued and drags on. Our circumstance turned out good in our favor in this regard. Hopefully I never have to go to court again but if I do, I know who to call. On a side note, Luke also had a current law school intern with him also by the name of Luke and he seemed to be on the right path with good mentor ship from Mr. Durham. Knoxville Bar Association referred me to Luke Durham when I was served with a detainer warrant on property that was under (an informal) sale contract to my mother. Heirs of the property owner refused to sell as previously agreed upon and chose to evict me. Luke was willing to take the case last m...inute, much to my relief.
