The lack of competence and abundance of negligence is astounding with Mr. Durham. He was retained for a matter in family court and if he’d have failed any harder he might have stumbled into a win. He double-billed, billed when HIS law clerk made errors that required correction, communicated with the ...efficiency of a drunken sloth, and could not be bothered to file motions he even charged for but never made. He is an abscess on the profession of practicing law for average folks but I’m sure with enough zeroes he can be swayed into the realm of integrity.

On Monday, I was so happy to be scheduled for a Wednesday consultation with Luke Durham, one of the attorneys at Brock, Shipe & Klenk. He has great reviews and I was looking forward to working with him on my case. Absolutely nothing was said about a consultation fee, which was encouraging since I've ...paid consultation fees a few times in the past only to have the attorney turn down my case. Today (Tuesday), I received a text asking me to pay $425 for the consultation before coming in tomorrow. I called Kelly, his paralegal, but she had no idea what I was talking about. After I forwarded the text to her, she called me back and said, "Yes, we'll need $425 or I'll have to cancel your consultation." She wasn't even embarrassed about springing that on me the day before my consultation. I was heart-sick about cancelling the appointment, but it's SO unethical to spring that on a potential client the day before their scheduled consultation. It made me view Brock, Shipe & Klenk in a whole new way. I don't believe we should have to accept unethical business practices as normal .

Although most of us never desire to need a lawyer, from time to time in our lives, it becomes necessary. Over the last year, I've needed a lawyer for two different situations that I faced in my life. Luke handled both cases for me. He is extremely competent and professional and also kept me up-to-...date on any developments in my cases. He responds to emails and phone calls promptly. Recently, he needed to contact me during my work hours to expedite the conclusion of my case. Because I leave my cell phone in my purse on silent while I'm working, I did not hear his phone calls or see his email message. He called my company to reach me, and then was able to bring my case to an immediate conclusion as a result. I highly recommend Luke Durham.

Previous reviews speak volumes of this man's skills and concern for cases he upholds. He has turned a bleak and dreary, nearly irredeemable case into a hopeful, salvageable one. Without going into too many details, I had to change attorneys and dump their mess onto Luke's shoulders. He had very l...ittle time to make adjustments and to absorb the case. This did not deter mister Durham. He took it upon himself to visit places handfuls of hundreds of miles away (out of state) so that he could 'paint a picture' and get the information he needed. He did the work you would expect a phenomenal attorney to do. No stone was left unturned, no possibilities or options had gone unconsidered. He did his absolute best, and hardest work for me. My best interests were - and still are - in his heart. This is why he is my attorney, and why he should also be yours.
