One Saturday of April 2019, I was going from Virginia to Pennsylvania and after taking a break near White Marsh, when I got back to I-95 North, I tried switching lanes quickly to reach the left lane and fell right into the speed trap of a waiting Maryland state trooper. Got a ticket with $290 fine. N...ext week, I started reading up on Maryland speeding rules and reviews of traffic attorneys online. This was a confusing time. Between the large number of websites of individual lawyers and law firms, review sites (Avvo), aggregators (BernieSEZ), and apps (OffTheRecord), I was completely at a loss. I started with posting a bid request at BernieSEZ. I got the names of few attorneys, but none of them contacted me back. Then I opened a case in the app called OffTheRecord. They responded with a quote, but since the attorney was unknown until I make the payment, I did not have the confidence to proceed. After that I went back to the old fashion way and started making calls to all attorneys I saw in google search, and the rates they quoted spanned the entire spectrum. I noticed that the higher end of the spectrum were those attorneys who had a decades of experience. I'm not an ageist, but maybe if I did not have a clean record, or if it was a DUI or something, I'd have been inclined to hire them. But since I had a clean record, I decided to pick one from the less costly range and Attorney David Waranch stood out with the most positive reviews in Avvo. When I called him for a quote, he was gracious and not at all pushy in any way. To be fair, all the attorneys I spoke to were quite nice. They all spent time explaining my options. So in the end I went with my gut and decided upon Attorney David. The onboarding process was very smooth, with everything done online. David called me and discussed in detailed about my situation. He was very professional and knew what he was talking about, which gave me confidence in him. He said he will call one week before the court date, for a final round of discussion. I was able to track the case on the Maryland courts website and saw online him taking care of adding himself as the attorney and setting/resetting the trial date. I did not have to call him up for anything after onboarding. One week before the court date in August, 2019, as promised, David called me and gave his thought that he was fairly confident of keeping this off my record, which was my primary concern. On the trial date, luckily the arresting office failed to show up in the court, and the case was dismissed with a NOT GUILTY verdict and no fines or court costs due. All in all, it was a pleasure working with Attorney David Waranch, and couldn't have asked for a better outcome.
