Out of State OUI

Grateful to WTB Law for guiding me through a complicated out of state OUI charge. Throughout the process WTB was always very respectful and available to answer my questions.

Excellent Attorney

Our son got himself into an unfortunate situation with an ATV while on a trip to Maine. Being from out of state we had no idea of who to use to represent him, I went from previous reviews posted for Mr. Bly and we decided to take a trip to meet with him. Immediately we felt that we were in good han...ds, and reassured that although the charge was serious, that he could help us navigate the court system. We are pleased to say that we came through this with an excellent result, with no additional trips to Maine to do so. We particularly liked the online portal to communicate and see exactly what was going on with our son's case. We recommend WTB law without hesitation, and would definitely use the firm again should we need an attorney in Maine.

WTB Law is the best!

I am from Massachusetts. I was pulled over in Franklin county because the tail lights of my rental were out. I was cuffed and taken to the Franklin county jail on suspicion of OUI. I was arrested after an improperly administered Breathalyzer test put me at the legal limit. I hired Bill that week...end after meeting with him in Biddeford. Bill’s team discovered the error in how the test was administered while reviewing footage from the officer’s body camera. Bill and Nathan got the BMV suspension dropped after three hearing continuations and negotiated a deferred disposition agreement (a charitable donation and good behavior) that avoided a jury trial for me and will have my case dismissed next December. Attorney Bly knows the law, employs great and knowledgeable people, kept me informed throughout the process, was respectful to me as an individual and protected my interests. He is a wonderful person and Attorney. I highly recomend Bill and team.

Attorney Bly saved my carrier.

Know one ever thinks that one day they may be sitting in a cruiser with their hands cuffed because they were just arrested for a potential OUI. Well when it happened to me I didn't know where to turn or what to do. After talking to Attorney Bly I knew then that he had every intention to fight for my ...rights no matter how long the case was extended; and that is exactly what he and his team did. While demonstrating superior professionalism along the way Attorney Bly and his team kept me informed on the status of my case and any changes that may of occurred while also answering any questions that I may of had. Being arrested for an OUI is (should be) a life changing event and is/can be extremely nerve wracking by hiring Attorney Bly all of my fears and nerves were relinquished and I am very pleased with his efforts and the outcome of my case.

An Improbable Outcome!!

I came into Bill’s office a completely broken down mess in early June 2017. The night before I had pulled over on the side of the road during a panic attack. I wanted to keep myself and others on the road safe. An officer pulled behind me to do a wellness check. He had seen I had a history of a prev...ious OUI conviction and seemed to assume that I was driving under the influence. I have had major knee surgery and have some physical limitations, unable to perform physical sobriety testing. The officer arrested me, believing I was intoxicated and took me to the county jail. Upon arrival to the jail, I asked to use the bathroom as I take diuretics for high blood pressure. This request was denied repeatedly without any valid reason. The officer confirmed that urinating would not effect the breathalyzer result but would not budge. At almost 10 minutes into the wait period, I really had to go! In frustration, I said once, that if he wasn’t going to let me use the bathroom I wasn’t sure I was taking his test. I was then hauled off by guards and thrown into a holding cell. I was now facing a second OUI refusal and was devestated. Bill was honest right from the get go. The penalties I was facing were severe. After hearing my story, he reassured me that he believed me. The DA made no reasonable offer so we prepared for jury trial. Bill spent 4-5 hours prepping me for trial. We went to trial in December 2017. I could not have asked for any better defense. Bill was able to bring into serious question the officers’ memory, documentation and knowledge of field sobriety testing. The trial went unexpectedly into a second day. After almost four hours of deliberations, the jury was hung so a mistrial was declared! The DA’s office eventually offered a driving to endanger plea which I happily accepted. The other part of my case was the BMV portion. It took four rescheduled hearings for it to finally be heard on the fifth. Of note, the hearing was after my trial. The officer failed to appear, my license suspension was rescinded and it was over! Unbelievable! I could not have hoped for better outcomes. Regardless of our victory and even if my case had ended differently, I was very impressed with Bill and his office staff. Always polite, sympathetic, responsive and informative. A plus communication! I very much appreciated Bill’s honesty, even when it may have not been something I wanted to hear. He’s extremely knowledgeable and a strong advocate. I highly recommend him to anyone faced with this terrifying predicament that has significant and potentially life changing consequences. I am beyond grateful!
