One cold night in January, I pulled over on the side of the freeway because I thought my tire was flat. As I got out to inspect it, a CHP officer was lurking behind me. He asked if I needed any help. I told him I had AAA and I was going to call them for help. He asked if I wanted him to call it ...in. I didn't want to be rude, so I told him that he could. That was my first mistake. I went to my car and got my AAA card and DL out. After some routine questions from the officer, he felt I was under the influence. I declined taking the breathalyzer test.
