Awful. Lost OPM case as he couldnt be bothered to verify the basis of his case

Hiring Aaron was the biggest waste of money and I lost my OPM case as he couldnt be bothered to check and see if his main argument, that i had a common law marriage in the state of Virginia, was truthful. Turns out there is no common law marriage in Virginia. He put a first year associate with no exp...erience in fed benefist then charged for both of their times. A total waste of time and money. I am filing a complaint with the bar. Lawyers have an oblligation to their clients that they are filing the arguments the are in line with the law they argue. All of his research charges are now in question. Save yourself the potential for malpractice and go somewhere where they wont implode your entire case

A lawyer’s duty to keep client confidences has few exceptions and in an abundance of caution I do not feel at liberty to respond in a point by point fashion in this forum. Suffice it to say that this post does not present a fair and accurate picture of the events in any way, nor does the statement represent the values upon which this firm was built. Further, our firm does not employ first year associates nor attorneys without experience. As previously stated, I remain available to discuss your concerns at any time.

Resolution of proposed 5-day suspension by STVHCS management

I contacted Pines Federal based on the recommendations of several VA employees at my facility. I had received a proposed 5-day suspension for "conduct unbecoming a federal employee" based on one 5-minute interaction with another VA employee. There were no other incidents of this type anywhere in my... record - and no counseling or comments accomplished by management. After calling Pines and speaking with Stephen Goldenzweig, I started working with Aaron Wersing. Aaron walked me through the entire process from start to finish. He was thorough - familiar with the VA and their issues - and a great listener. He expertly composed the letter that I submitted to management as my first response, which in my opinion set the stage for the successful resolution of my situation. He also dialed into the review that I was able to conduct with a member of the management team and made the opening statement to the reviewing official. I received the resolution of this issue back from management last Friday; the proposed 5-day suspension was reduced to a letter of reprimand. Rather than a permanent "black mark" on my record - this LOR will be expunged from my record in 2 years. In my opinion, Aaron's expertise in crafting the written response - and his excellent oral presentation of both the facts and VA policies concerning this situation - were vital to the successful resolution of this issue. I would highly recommend Pines Federal - and especially Aaron Wersing - to anyone facing what appears to an insurmountable challenge thrown at them by VA management.
