Amazing Trial Attorney

I was a first time DWI offender in my early 20's. I contacted Mr. Herman Martinez right before my first court date and he provided me with courteous and professional help in my case. Although he did not stop my licence from getting suspended, he did provide me with all the options I had available. Ev...en with the option to take the DIVERT program which will eventually result in dismissal, Mr. Martinez assured me that my chances in trial were very good. I went to trial and he ended up blindsiding the prosecution resulting in the case getting dismissed. I hope I never get in trouble again but if I do, I'd hire Mr. Martinez again in a heartbeat. I am grateful for his help with my case and would recommend him to anyone in my position.

Going to trial is the hardest decision for someone to make. It took a lot of courage on your part to go to trial when they were offering you so many options. Ultimately, your decision paid off with our trial victory...congratulations!

So GRATEFUL

I rarely write reviews but I had to take the time to express how grateful I am to Mr. Herman Martinez. I met with a client on a Sunday afternoon in October of last year. After a very productive session she invited me to stay out and have a few drinks with her in Midtown Houston, which turned into... an all day affair. I headed home a little after 12 AM and as I was searching for my phone, which had slipped between my seat and the middle console, I hit a a curb and ruptured my tire. Looking to get off of the road and find a safe place to park, I pulled into a nearby garage and proceeded to change the tire. As, I was doing so, the security guard called the cops and when they arrived, needless to say, the first thing they asked was "had I been drinking" and informed me that I would be going to jail and charged with a DWI. If convicted, this would have been my second DWI. I was ashamed to be in this situation a second time, scared because I wasn’t sure what to expect (and every thing I Googled referenced the severity of a DWI 2), and extremely angry with myself. Over the course of the next few days, I talked to many attorneys (Mr. Martinez was the second one that I called), and even though there were less expensive options, I ended up coming back to him. Even from our initial conversation, I got the sense that he was patient, honest, and knowledgable. I couldn’t have been more right. After working out the terms, he instructed me on how to handle the situation with my license at the time and let me know what the next steps would be. He was extremely professional and responsive, even calling me on a Saturday, during the Christmas holiday to discuss a situation that I was worried about. Natalie, his office manager - was the same; responsive, professional and cordial (I called a LOT). The case carried over well into this year and after about 6 or 7 months I was tired of court appearances, tired of worrying about my fate, and ready to give up and take whatever we could get so that I could move on with my life, even if it was with the added pressure of probation or jail time. Mr. Martinez, however, offered options, had me prepare for various alternatives and expressed his belief that we could ultimately get the case dismissed. He never made me feel like he was too busy and ready to move on from the case (I say this because, that’s exactly how I felt with the lawyer from my 1st DWI case). I was skeptical that the case would be dismissed and had mentally prepared for the worst when, almost one year to the day, Natalie called to say that the case had been DISMISSED. I am so very grateful to Mr. Martinez. He is a fantastic attorney and even though the case could have gone a very different way, it was very comforting to have so much confidence in the person that was representing me. Of course, I hope to NEVER see him again in this capacity, however, I am so glad that he and Natalie were there. Again, thank you so much, Mr. Martinez. You were truly a godsend.

JT, Thanks for believing in me, showing patience, and understanding the criminal process. Like I said, sometimes we have to push the case for several months before getting the results we want.

Great Lawyer

Herman was very professional. I had a first time DWI case. He helped me keep my license and got me into a PTI program.
