I feel it's the disability system

I have been with L & N since 2009 and I cannot say that they specifically had anything to do with the long wait. They handled my Social Security Claim and my VA Claim. It has been a long hard road with the VA. For the most part I believe that the VA is the reason my claim is taking so long. When ...I talk with the VA here in Atlanta they are unable to tell me anything that even makes sense about my appeals. If the VA cannot tell me anything about my appeals I don't think the attorneys L & N are going to get any better of an answer then they gave me. The problem is VA system its broken, its been broken for a long time and until we as Veterans demand better treatment and hold our government responsible the VA system will stay broke. In my waiting I have learned several things and that is if its not documented, time stamped and black ink with the VA letter head it has not happened. Like most I have lost faith in the law firm and the VA system, but If I am going to be fair about it, L&N has never lied to me that I can prove and they have kept me inform as best they can when you look at who they are dealing with. If the VA is going to treat a veteran with little regard imagine how they are going to treat a non veteran who is in all reality challenging their decisions. Like most I get very mad and feel like I am all alone in this fight, and yes sometimes I feel like taking it on L&N but actually they are the only ones that will actually talk to me about this. The VA doesn't. They just tell me what ever they think will get me off the line quicker. L&N has kept me informed as best they can with the information they get from the VA when they get it. One thing I have learned is just talk to one entity the attorney or the VA. If you deal with both it will just drive you crazy because in my experience nothing ever matched up. Save yourself the grief.

Have I made a mistake in hiring this firm?

I'm currently a client with this firm and felt that I needed to look at some of their complaints because it's been almost a year and I have not received any desirable results. My SSD was denied in May... it is December now, shouldn't the appeal be processed by now? I'm living with my mom and her hu...sband and they think I should get another firm to handle my case because of the time and limited contact i've had since L&N began my case in January. In waiting for my case to be approved I've since lost everything I'd worked for over the years. I knew time would be a problem in filing a claim, I just didn't think it would take a year or more. L&N please do your reputation a favor and give your clients good results. Don't just type in replies to all the bad reviews you are getting from your long time clients. To my surprise after looking this info up I see that you have a lot of unsatisfied clients. Now I'm feeling doubtful of your abilities in representing me. I'm gonna have to make some calls to the VA and SS offices to find out if you filed my appeals on time. I'm also going to be researching other attorneys to find out if they can assist with my claims in a timely manner. You know sometimes you have the lives of your clients in your hands. Most of us are at the lowest points in our lives and we put our faith in your law firm thinking that you are as good as the lawyers we see on TV, but you turn out to be burned out employees looking to line your pockets by taking on more cases than you can keep up with. Try to hold yourselves to a higher standard than you seem to be doing now.

I did not know how else to contact directly

I just needed to inform you that I received some mail (advertisements) from DISABILITY PLANNERS located in UTAH. And they said they are apart of your firm. To make long story short, I called them because they claimed they could help and I told the guy E.C, "I DON' MIND. I JUST DO NOT WANT TO TO CHANG...E MY DOCTORS". He called me back and stated, "YOUR DOCTOR IS IN THE NETWORK" and sent the forms to me. The following week, I was in the hospital for PNUEMONIA. Plus they found out I have an ENLARGED HEART and plus the surgeoun had to drain fluid from around my heart. So I was in the hospital (Memorial) for almost 2 weeks. As soon as I returned to see my doctor, we found out she is not in the network and I told my case manager, Miss G. (I can't use names) that I will not see another doctor and why did this guy who supposedly works as a 3rd party under your firm would make such a lie just to make a commission? Now, as I'm writing this, I'm without a doctor and me and my case manager is working on trying to disenroll me in that plan (UnitedHealth). I can't even see my cardiologist or anything and as the last time I spoke with my doctor, Dr. E., I told her, "I'm still having chest pains". Just in case you should contact me, my 3 digit area code is 320 (I'm almost sure I'm in your data).

Customer Service

I was squared away, but have not been able to refer anyone to this firm. The VA Dept does not answer the phone or follow through. I submitted very important paperwork to a rep and called him back 14 days later and he had forgotten to send it. This is disrespectful and unacceptable to man that has ser...ved this country honorably

The legal for for Mr. Kenneth Lewis Lavan were very professional and dedicated to helping me succeed with my case. I would definitely recomment this lawyer to other fello veterans seeking support with VA disability claims.
