Firstly, I have professionally worked with many family law attorneys and had the opportunity to see some great ones and some "not so great" ones. However, I never worked professionally with Kathleen, but was representing myself in a nasty custody battle. I was fighting for my daughters and was strug...gling in court, mainly because I didn't lie and try to make my ex look bad. You would think that taking the high road would work....LOL. Kathleen just happened to be in court and witnessed my integrity getting destroyed by the other party. I became visibly upset and couldn't control my emotions and that is when Kathleen approached me and told me to relax, stay calm and she walked me out of court and talked me off the ledge. Kathleen told me to call her the next day, which I did. She spend a good amount of time telling me exactly what I needed to hear. She was so "to the point" and unlike other attorneys I had spoken to who could NEVER just give me a STRAIGHT answer, Kathleen didn't give me a 100 different possible outcomes or options. She told me what my rights were and what to do and what not to do...AND THAT WAS IT. I took her advice and went back to the other party and they immediately agreed to what I had put in writing! I called Kathleen, who was so happy for me. I did end up hiring her to review the agreement and have the judge sign off on it. I have since referred one person, who retained Kathleen and can't stop thanking me for the referral, as he did not have a good experience with his first attorney.

Kathleen is amazing. I can not express my gratitude enough to her for saving me from my volatile and extremely difficult ex husband. She looked out for me and my son's best interest. She truly cares about her clients and works hard. She believed in me and was able to give me and my son the outcome we... needed. She was there during my most emotional moments and encouraged me to fight. She was definitely in my corner and I have custody of my son and look forward to working with her for the entirety of my divorce and trust that I am in the best hands. She showed no fear in the face of my violent and manipulative ex, and stood up to him and did the right thing for my child. She is in the right occupation, she is truly gifted. I am so happy to have her in my life and at my side during this crazy time. I could not disagree more with the review that says she only cares about money and does little work and doesn't answer emails. She answered ever one of my emails in a timely manner even if it was late, my texts, my phone calls, and worked hard.

As most women, I was at the lowest and most terrifying point in my adult life. She listen to my concerns, she was interested in the... well being of me and my minor child and most importantly her fee structure helped me afford her services. I filed for custody 2 weeks ago and I have a set date for orientation September 3, 2014. My daughters father went to Kathleen Murphys office today and she decided to send me a letter about their discussion. The email was rude and unprofessional adn simply not her place since she told me via email and... over the phone she is not his attorney. I assumed she was someone he ran into. In the letter she states times and dates set that have not been discussed with me at all. It explains that he is stopping care that he never started due to their conversation. I am confused because in another paragraph she states he is a client. She asks not to reply to the email so I called her. She was vague when I asked why she emailed me. She stated again that she was not his attorney and so I took this as a bad scare tactic. When I asked her how is she emailing me about terms about my daughter she instructs me to talk to him and tells me her email was clear. I was not happy at this point because if you are not representing him how are you setting anything for my daughter and we have court next week. She was unprofessional and rude. The email is enclosed as well. Her practices should be looked into. This is a man who has not seen his daughter in 3 weeks and one and in one conversation they both deal on her visits and set up things that have not been in existence in forever. I am all about parental rights and abiding by the law but had she asked the right questions her insight and hopefully her academia would have helped her steer their outcome better. Again her practices should be looked into before her advice to non-clients gets someone hurt. We are in a terrible time where people need right advice and with attorneys need to be accountable and by the book.

Kathleen helped manage an emergency situation of child custody. She was referred by another past client of hers who mentioned Kathleen was a go-getter, a bulldog and didn't back down. She is very educated in law, long years of experience in this specialty and, knows what she needs to do to get the ...job done. She is extremely prepared for court and we were able to win our case given the amount of information we had, evidence we offered, and preparation work that was completed. I would highly recommend Kathleen and her team to help you in any domestic law situation.
