Visitation Client

David is the best there is. He took an impossible situation and turned it on its head. If it were not for him, I would have been up the creek without a paddle. David's courtroom control is untouchable. He and his office were VERY responsive. You will not find a better lawyer in the area.

Truly "Checked Out"

Bice could be an outstanding lawyer. When you actually get his attention, he is great. He represented me against my ex-wife who filed a frivolous lawsuit. Without exaggeration, I had to manage the case. I had to remind him five or six times of the basic facts, even though it was a simple case. ... He just wasn't paying attention. When I hinted at filing a grievance with the State Bar, he snapped into action and was absolutely OUTSTANDING from then on. But prior to that, it was over a year of him seeming like he just had no idea what my case was about. So he CAN do it, he just chooses not to. And the worst of it was getting outrageous bills for nothing. I got a $200 bill one month and asked him what it was for, and he said he mailed a letter asking for a document. I asked for the letter, and it was one sentence. He charged me an hour to type one sentence, and put a stamp on an envelope. Now that's just wrong, it could not have taken him more than 2 minutes. He also forgot to file for an extension, which meant the day before I was supposed to be in court, I was in the hospital calling the court myself to arrange the extension, because Bice was nowhere to be found. His response was, "well, there was not harm, so no liability for me." But had I not checked on it myself, and solved the problem myself, my case would have been lost because he was off and even his secretary had no idea what he was doing or why he was't there, or if he'd be back in time to solve the problem. Was he out fishing? I never found out. He seems to think that his time is worth way more than what he agrees is his billable rate, so he makes everything take five times as long, and then puts in a half-effort. So do the math, you're really paying him ten times more than what he agreed to.

Incredible service

During the holidays I began the process of a divorce. After listening to my situation David gave me a very reasonable retainer estimate. Everything went exactly to schedule and my retainer was not increased at all, I was even returned a small remainder. I ended up with a much more favorable divorce s...ettlement that I was expecting. One thing I cannot stress enough (which was very impressive to me) is the level of accessibility. His office responded to all of my emails literally within 10 minutes of my submissions. Appointments to sign paperwork were very flexible and everything was always prepared and ready to go when I arrived.

Very little effort, very big bill.

David Bice was very congenial, but he wouldn't do anything; he'd promise documents by a certain date, and get it done two months later. I ended up paying him $8,000 for a 3 page document. And when he emailed me the document, I checked to MS Word summary statistics to discover he'd created the docum...ent the day he sent it to me, and the total edit time for the document was 17 minutes. He'd pretended for three months that he was working on it, finally got the thing done in 15 minutes, and billed me as if he'd worked on it for hours. It was a boilerplate document, something any law student could produce, and required zero research or attorney effort. The case succeeded, but Mr. Bice intentionally dragged it out and milked it for all he could. Beware of attorneys who use "client review" venues to write their own glowing reviews.
