The distribution charge was due to the nature of torrent downloads, when you download something you are automatically uploading it at the same time, even if you don’t mean to or know this is happening. The ...distribution charge was a felony, possession was a misdemeanor. I was facing the potential of many years in jail. Not only did Thomas get the felony dropped, but he was also able to negotiate in the plea for house arrest instead of jail time and the plea was accepted. The success of this case I believe in large part was due not only to his knowledge of this particular crime, but also due to the advice and guidance he gave me, telling me to get counseling right away, character letters, and more. Follow his advice to the letter this will give you the best chance of not only winning the case because that’s not just what it’s about, but what’s it’s really about here is healing from this addiction, because it’s a terrible addiction and was eating me alive, and I didn’t know what to do. With Thomas’ guidance along with a strong support system and Gods grace, I was able to find an amazing therapist and am happy to say that the addiction is gone. I don’t believe I would have made anywhere close to the amount of progress I’ve made if I was in jail or prison. Thomas is easy to talk to, he allows you to text him at all hours of the day or night, and is quite responsive. He’s kind and gentle, not judgemental which is important with a criminal lawyer. There’s always an underlying reason why people have the issues they have and he is understanding of that. Overall 5 stars for Thomas, my wife and I are so thankful for all he did.

Thomas Maronick was valuable as counsel for my first offense DUI case in MD. The most important thing he did initially was get me to request my MVA hearing, I did not realize I completely lost that right 10 days after the offense. Other attorneys I had talked to before him had not mentioned this, and... that was part of the reason I retained him. He made good recommendations along the way on how to position myself the best for my District Court and MVA hearing outcomes. He is busy, but if I needed to talk to him he was able to make time for me. Given the circumstances of the case, having the outcome be a PBJ to the lower DWI offense, and a modified license suspension (interlock installation, but I am still allowed to drive non-interlock vehicles for work) seems like a good result. In summary, after retaining him as counsel I do not have any criminal convictions, and I am still able to drive wherever I need to (albeit with the interlock).
