I would highly recommend attorney emkey. He listened to me and was the only attorney who cared about what i had to say. He didn't make any promises or guarantees like several other attorneys made to me, but instead was honest and realistic about how he was going to handle my case. Hey, it worked. ...He kept me out of jail ! I'm extremely happy i chose him to represent me and would highly recommend him to anyone.

Dan Emkey and his team went so far above and beyond to help me with my case, that the outcome was so much better than anyone had anticipated. He kept me informed on the status of my case at all times, even holidays. He was very experienced in what the D.A. was going to do, going to allow, going to ...try, and he had a counter and plan for all contingencies. This will be the most honest and fair review you will read on here. So if it’s taken down we know they skew the reviews. So here it is..... Dan is a nice guy. He is the guy that you would hang out with in a summer day and bbq with and drink beer. So if that’s what you want in an attorney, by all mea...ns hire him. But if you want the one that will fight for you as if his own life was in the line, he is NOT the lawyer for you. If you have a DUI and it’s even the 3rd one you get, I am sure Dan can get you out of it and cut a deal for you. He is very good at deals, as he should be because he is best buds with the guys in the DA’s Office. That being said, if you think you may have to go to trial, don’t hire him. He doesn’t tell you that, but I will. Dan isn’t a trial attorney and he will do things to get a deal that limits you if you decide the deal they offer isn’t fair. My experience is that the WHOLE system in Berks county is corrupt. The prosecution doesn’t care about truth and the defense attorneys only care about getting paid. So they work together and sometimes that is a good thing but other times not so good. When you watch the attorney you hired being best buds with the prosecution you don’t really trust your life to them. To be fair Emily is incredible! With out her Dan wouldn’t appear half as good as he comes across. Dan has a way of making you think he is telling the truth, but I cought him in a few lies. The issue was he was so good at lying I think he believes his own lies. And if I hadn’t have known truth I would have believed him. He is a smooth talker but we all know satan was a smooth talker. So yes, you will read plenty of reviews that says Dan is a great attorney, and maybe he will be for you, I just know if I had it to do over again I wouldn’t hire him again. That’s the truth. I refuse to get angry at things that I have no control over now, I just wished someone would have been this honest on here for me. Because I did find on other obscure sites people saying how Dan only wants his client to take deals and kind of bashed him, but because of being on an obscure site I didn’t put much weight into what they were saying. So beware! Dan is expensive and you don’t always get what you pay for. Proceed with caution! That would be my advice! And before you hire anyone, speak with multiple attorneys and do research. I had an attorney so confident that he told me to speak with other attorneys and that he knew I would be back. If I only hadn’t hired Dan first and could afford someone else I would have gone back to that attorney. Unfortunately I got a second opinion a little too late. Don’t be like me, get multiple opinions and prices before picking an attorney. I wish you the best!

My experience with Dan is one I wish I could take back. I hired Dan for a dui case paid upfront etc. Dans communication skills are awful, I felt as if I was bothering him every time I called. The days leading up to my court case Dan was silent, he would not return my calls etc. He called me the day o...f my court case and waited till he was in court room to break the news that there’s nothing he could do for me. I wasted 3500 thinking he would fight for me but all he did was string me along knowing there was nothing he could do. It’s a shame because his father was very good to my family during a extremely hard time and unfortunately Dan never inherited his fathers morals
