MEAN AND DISRESPECTFUL

Don’t use James Hardy!!! This attorney is incredibly disappointing and unprofessional. He has provided absolutely no value for the exorbitant fee that I paid. Despite my numerous attempts to reach him, he has either chosen to completely ignore my calls or, in some cases, he has hung up on me ...during our conversations. This behavior is not only frustrating but also deeply unprofessional. I feel let down and neglected, especially during a time when I needed guidance and support. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against using his services. I wouldn’t recommend him to anyone, not even my worst enemy, as I believe others deserve far better representation and respect.

Don’t do it

Prolonged waste of a lawyer, says he doesn’t charge for calls or emails and not to worry about the price but never answers takes weeks to get the smallest things done and wants to charge for every little message or quick chat, after wasting $5000 for the 2 days of nothing, he kept forgetting to file ...or communicate important details.

Lawyer lack of responsibility

Certainly! Here's a professional English translation of your message: This lawyer is hired and was paid a substantial fee. However, after receiving the payment, he does not do his job. His communication with his client is poor, and he acts irresponsibly and unethically. Please report him to the Ba...r Association, as his actions are unacceptable. He is playing with his client's freedom, which is not right. If you'd like, I can also help craft friendly and welcoming versions of this message.

Negative 5 stars!!! Please I beg you to hire another attorney!!!

Attorney Hardy was retained on 12/10/2020 to represent me in a custody plan modification. There was a Family Relations Resolution date scheduled for 1/12/2021. This attorney is negligent and incompetent. Text from me to Attorney Hardy 12/21/2020 @ 2:41pm: Are you filing the objection before the co...urt date ? Response @ 2:52pm: Absolutely ma'am. When I asked if I would be able to read the rebuttal before it was filed Attorney Hardy told me I needed to trust him and that no other client had asked this of him. Text from me to Attorney Hardy on 12/22/2020 @ 8:10pm: Um, people don't want to read what you are posting on their behalf?? That sounds off to me. I was asking not to "double check" but to be clear on the message that is being communicated so I am on the same page. That it is not overly political as this is about my son and not politics. This is going on record as what I am fighting for....if someone doesn't want to read what is legally being submitted on their behalf then I would be concerned. I hired a lawyer to make sure all the legalese is communicated properly but the fact that you have asked me zero questions about the case also makes me nervous. I have not seen anything that say "no worries Melissa...your son is 100% safe". Until then I will worry. I also dont feel I have been overly obnoxious and bugging you for updates as this is literally the 4th text since I sent my payment in almost 2 weeks and we are 13 business days from the resolution hearing date. I dont want to be blindsided and reading about my own case after the fact hence asking to read what is being submitted. No response from Attoney Hardy. He finally replied on 12/29/2020 asking to speak that night on the phone. No call that night. We finally touched base and he gave me his own deadline of 1/1/2021 to have the rebuttal completed. On 1/4/2021 he reached and told me he needed information from me to even start the rebuttal. He requested to speak on 1/5/2021 at 1130am. No response or any form of legal work coming from Attoney Hardy. Text from me to Attorney Hardy on 1/9/2021 @ 443pm: Sir I don't think you even understand. When I asked if we were filing a response to the claims BEFORE the 1/12 date, you said "of course". Then proceeded to tell me it would take you a "couple of weeks to formulate a response". It's been over 4 weeks. You are the one who told this resolution would be treated like a court date. The resolution HEARING date is on Tues. What are you doing for it? Please forward the hearing links as I am sure as my representative you have received it. I am sorry I am not like your other clients who seem not to care about the process or what they might lose. I am sorry that I want to be informed in my own case. I am sorry that my wanting to know what is going on causes you stress and to feel pressure. All you needed to do was communicate what the plan was and then follow through. It is pretty simple as a whole. If its a RESOLUTION meeting there is nothing to agree upon if there isn't a response. As per the CT Judiciary site all paperwork so be ready for the resolution hearing. That it will be quick and we were supposed to be prepared. I terminated Attorney Hardy's service and wrote the paper myself and filed it. I was able to retain COMPETENT legal counsel before the Tuesday hearing. All Attorney Hardy did on the case was file a motion to represent. When I demanded my flat fee returned to me, I received this email from Him: "It will not be returned in full. You must have lost your mind." When told I would be filing a grievance with the State and the CT Bar association, he emailed the following "File it. Do I appear frightened?". Two day later my retainer was returned. He seemed frightened. This Attoney is completely incompetent and unable to follow through with his own or court deadlines. Do not allow him to represent you. You will definitely regret it. Please do not repeat the mistakes I made.

First, I would like to say that it is really important to me to give the clients I take on the best representation I can and help them navigate what can often be a complicated and daunting legal process. There are circumstances where I may consult with someone and not represent them for a variety of reasons. In the case of Melissa, I did have a consultation with her, filed an appearance in her case, but ultimately chose not to continue to represent her. She had provided me with a check that I returned to her because we differed on the subject of case strategy. I would encourage anyone looking for representation to look through all of my reviews and read the experiences of people I have worked with and represented through their legal matters. I think their testimonials help shine a light on how hard I work for my clients.

Not quite it!

I hired this lawyer back in 09/18 for my divorce case. My experience was at all in par with what he told me he could do for me. After much missed appointments (not once, have I met him), delays & report which cost me a lot of money in temporary child support & alimony, I had to fired him in 12/18. O...verall, my experience with him wasn't it!
