I was stopped for using my cell phone while driving in Kirkland, WA in late January 2011. I'd had dinner with friends since I was travelling from out of state and over a long dinner had 3 glasses of wine. The officer asked if I had consumed alcohol and unfortunately I answered yes. I'd recently had f...oot surgery and had a handicap parking pass with me but the officer refused to tell me what she wanted me to do with the field sobriety test so I ultimately refused to take it. I am in my late 40's and have never had any legal issues, never been arrested, and was now faced with possible jail time, huge fines, and insurance and ignition interlock devices!
