DUI case made worse by attorney

Wow where do I start. I hired this attorney because of her reviews and was even referred to her from another attorney. When I first contacted Mary she was very responsive and eager to get on the case. After we met for the first time and payment was made, I felt like I was in good hands. As time w...ent on Mary became less responsive to my phone calls and basically lost contact with her. The first issue we had was when she did not show up for my DMV hearing and managed to get my license suspended with no fight. The second issue which led to her getting fired was she did not show for my preliminary hearing which resulted in a warrant for my arrest. When I was finally able to get in contact with her she said she asked the court clerk if there was any cases on the docket for me, to which the clerk responded there was nothing showing. She was actually texting this clerk and was able to send me the dialogue. The text she sent the clerk did not have my correct name on it. If she was really a client detailed attorney she would not have screwed up my name. When confronted with this information she basically shrugged it off like it was no big deal. When asked about a refund she said she would have to do an accounting of everything she did. Don't really know what was done and still not sure how much of the retainer I will be getting back. After this incident I researched her on the state of California Bar Association website and found out this is not her first time blowing off clients. If you are thinking about hiring this woman as your attorney make sure you have a clear and concise agreement of what you expect of her.

Mr. S: As I said directly to you, I don't appreciate the false statements. As you know, when I sent my California Government Tort Claim to the DMV instructing Ms. Davis to reschedule your administrative hearing, she called me and left me a message immediately. She knew I meant business because she knows I sue people, and I win. I will not take responsibility for the DMV's faults, which occur fairly regularly. She will respond to me when the DMV reopens. Meanwhile, a copy of the tort claim has been mailed and faxed to the Sacramento legal office, assuring that action will be taken. My good friend, colleague and co-counsel recently won a 4 million settlement with the DMV. I think DMV knows I'm serious about them rectifying this. And if they play games, I will let them know who the attorney who is going to take it to court. NOTE: I am sorry you are scared and frightened of the consequences that might occur. But let's not forget, you almost ran over two police officers, admitted to driving with 5-6 drinks in your system, and made your case extremely difficult to defend. And you are the only person in my years with AVVO who has posted a negative review.

Mary is the BEST!

I retained Mary after being charged with a DUI with prior and a 148 - resisting arrest. After fighting hard for over 2 years and dealing with a DA who caused a mistrial by misconduct, Mary was able to obtain a very favorable result for me. Mary is tenacious, straight-forward and very hard working. ... I highly recommend Mary and wouldn't hesitate to hire her again. THANKS MARY!

She's Really Tough & Really Good

I hired Mary Frances because my former lawyer didn't want to fight for me. I felt like I was being sent up the river, even though I paid the other lawyer. He seemed to always just agree with the prosecutor, and was pushing me to just plead to whatever deal was on the table. So I was referred to Mary... Frances by a friend who she helped a few years ago. The difference between the old lawyer and Mary Frances was like night and day. She worked hard, she filed motions, and she pushed for me. After a long, long time, I got a misdemeanor deal which is huge because I really was looking at some time. I respect Mary Frances. She's one tough gal.

She Worked Tirelessly To Save Our Son From an Angry Woman

Mary came highly recommended by a family attorney friend in LA. My son was faced with sexual assault charges. he was facing a stiff prison sentence. Further, he was facing time in the brig since he is a Marine. He was falsley accused by a horrible woman he rejected. Our family had to put our resourc...es together and get a really tough lawyer who could expose her for what she did. We are blessed that we were referred to Mary. After three counts of rape and sexual assault, my son walked away with a misdemeanor and no time. It seems like it took forever. But Mary said for her and her investigator to get it right, we couldn't rush in. I think even the DA was shocked at how much lies Mary caught the woman in. Lie after lie, and Mary proved it. Thank God for Mary because without her our son would be in prison.

The Best Lawyer EVER!

I cannot say enough good things about Mary. When we asked an attorney friend for recommendations on a criminal attorney to help our son, several of the attorneys he asked highly recommended her. She is extremely knowledgeable and skillful of the legal system and was able to explain everything to u...s in a way that we could understand what was going on and what to expect. We are so very thankful and grateful for the compassion and dedication she had in helping us through a very stressful situation. I HIGHLY recommend Mary and cannot express the gratitude that my family has for her!!! She made a huge impact on our lives. BTW... she won!
