You will not find a better lawyer than Doug Cohen. My wife and I retained Doug after wasting lots of time and money on another lawyer that did not produce any results. It was almost time to go to trial and we really were in a bind. My wife was charged with some very serious charges. She was facin...g consequences that could impact our family for a lifetime. My wife’s career, schooling, ability to parent, and even her relationship with our kids was in jeopardy. After our initial consultation with Doug, it was obvious that he was the lawyer for us. He showed a genuine interest in our case and went above and beyond the expectations of even the most skilled and professional lawyer. He didn’t just want to know the details of the case; rather, he cared so much about our family that he wanted to find the root problem – what was the cause of the behavior that resulted in criminal charges – this resulted in bringing to light other issues that our family could work on together. Keep in mind; this was all just during the free consultation. After making the decision to hire Doug he continued to fight relentlessly for us. He compiled a game plan that he thought would turn our “no-offer” case into a plea deal. The prosecutor, in this case, was adamant at not offering my wife a plea, however, this didn’t stop Doug from trying. He checked up on my wife to make sure she was doing all the things she needed to do, giving her constant reminders, and being there for mental and emotional support. Doug was always available when we had questions or concerns, almost always answered the phone, or at the least, called us back in a timely manner. Although I was not technically his client, with my wife’s permission he made sure I always was in the loop and updated about what was going on in the case. Even the prosecutor himself was impressed with all the hard work and effort Doug put into our case, so much so, that he finally offered my wife a plea-deal after looking at a well put together packet of convincing info that showed the true problem in the case and what my wife has done to work on those issues; the issues that Doug brought to light and helped us take the steps to fix. We were very happy with the outcome of the case. This was a very stressful and scary time for us. But when you have someone like Doug, fighting hard for you every step of the ways, the fear and stress is overpowered by a sense of, “everything’s going to be all right.” After sentencing, Doug –although his work was done – walked with my wife and I over to probation office, sat there and helped us with all the paperwork and till this day is still in touch with my wife’s probation office, making sure they know all the mitigating circumstances of the case and ensuring a smooth transition. My wife and I truly are going to miss Doug. He really makes you feel like family. Thank you, Doug, and all the staff at Peak Legal Services, for everything you have done for our family!

This review comes all to easy for me to write and I want to save people out there a lot of money. We had paid Doug Cohen of Peak Legal Services 10K and received very little for our money. Mr. Cohen was sarcastic, rude, mean and condescending. He was happy to take our case on then he changed. I w...as fighting four misdemeanor probation violations, two of which I admit I was guilty for. Those two were on me. I failed myself, my family and my lawyer on that. I suffered three strokes during this time and was on one 11 different prescribed medications, which more than like caused the other two false positives. My fiance and i did most of the work. Mr Cohen could not even find time to meet with me and we he did he was very negative and acted like a bully. He lacked respect for my family and myself. At the end, on the day of my sentencing Mr. Cohen was a 'no show' , instead I was there alone. I was sentenced to 18 months in county jail for four alleged 'hot' UA's, that being the maximum sentencing for county jail for a misdemeanor. We have disputed half the charges and have since hired another attorney one who is doing a fantastic job. I filed for 'inefective counsel' with the courts and am working on getting to a treatment center instead of jail for a penalty not worthy of the crime. If you are considering hiring Doug Cohen of Peak Legal Services, remember this, though everyone is innocent until proven guilty you will not get that feeling from Peak Legal. If you've been arrested for any type of misdemeanor, expect to be treated as though you've already been proven guilty and convicted, for the team at Peak Legal won't 'zealously' defend you as they themselves have chosen to be your judge and jury.
