I didn't know exactly what I was looking for in an attorney as no one hands you a manual on exactly how to handle a divorce. I researched this decision for over six hours, narrowing the field down to six collaborative attorneys. I knew that, based on reading tons of reviews, I was looking for an atto...rney that would have my best interest in mind (duh), but also was drawn to ones where folks said the firms were conscientious about their limited funds. What stood out about Ilana's reviews was something to the effect of "she is totally collaborative, until that option is exhausted, and then she goes in and fights hard for you". Thankfully mine never came to that, but I appreciated the nuanced and responsive approach, and we were able to come to a resolution even before any mediation. It's weird to say that I had a wonderful experience with her whole office in my divorce, but it's true! She made me feel empowered, protected, and her associate, Priya, was right aside me the whole way. Trust me - it will be the best decision you make if you are able to hire her.

Ilana, her paralegal Maureen, and her fellow attorney Priya were all very professional. Their office is clean, well organized, centrally located just two blocks from the courthouse. I had a divorce with child and an open CPS investigation. It was acrimonious as you can get, mom was destroying as... much as she could on the way out. While the facts of the case were unique (seriously, your mileage may vary) ultimately our case resolved with me being granted sole custody which was absolutely the best case scenario given the facts. I was also able to keep the entirety of my retirement and stock. Ilana, Maureen, and Priya even worked with me on the subsequent child support case and securing records from my own case that I needed to apply for a federal grant towards my child's tuition which was a big help since we had a lot of rebuilding to do. I hope that no one has to go through a difficult separation like I did, doubly so if you have children, but Ilana was absolutely up to the task. You won't be left wanting for legal representation if you hire Ilana.

Ilana Tanner came highly recommended and accepted my cause after due diligence. Her advice was intelligently tailored to my specific situation and she displayed understanding of me, as our acquaintance deepened, and of the necessity that in the end result, it was important to leave behind as few hard... feelings as possible, while still achieving a fair outcome with a party whose view of fairness didn't come very close to matching my own. I'm very impressed with Ilana and her professionalism and effectiveness and grasp of human nature.

Ilana did an amazing job on my case. It was very messy considering my ex that I was divorcing was in the military. She was highly available when it came to responding to my concerns and needs. She pretty much achieved everything I needed out of my divorce financially, child custody, and helped build ...an amazing court order. She is calm, composed and collected during the hearings we had, and she never failed or disappointed me. I felt I put my life and my daughters lives in her hands and she took care of us all the way. (Her paralegal is amazing as well) Ilana and Mo are a great team!

Miss Tanner took the time to get to know me & my husband on a personal level and really cared & showed compassion for what we were going through. My husband was fighting for custody for his little girl against her Mother who was clearly not meant to be a Mom. We told Miss Tanner our expectations fro...m the beginning and the demands we wouldn't negotiate with the Mom. She listened and didn't stop until we got exactly what we wanted (and what was best for our daughter). Although Alexis isn't mine biologically, Ilana recognized that I AM Alexis' mom and always made me feel that way in court as she represented us. She's the absolute best and we've referred her to so many of our friends & work colleagues. She always did exactly what she said she was going to do, answered the phone & email 24 hours a day, and never gave us bad advice. We could not possibly be happier with Ilana. Going through months, even years through the court system is miserable, but to know you have someone who deeply cares for not only you, but the well being of your child is so important. If I could I'd give Ilana 1,000,000 stars because she earned every single one. She always made us feel like we were her ONLY clients and showed us the importance of good legal council.
