This is actually a review for Katie, who works with Alana as a paralegal I believe. She's who you'll talk to before speaking with Alana. I had a few conversations with Katie, at no charge, about my case and her advice was so helpful. I was very confused and scared before I talked with Katie, but she ...pointed me in the right direction and gave very sound legal counsel that put my anxiety at ease. I was blown away that she offered this advice even though she knew that my case probably wasn't something Alana could help with.

I had little time to find a lawyer, and Ilana was recommended by another law firm who didn't do mediation. So glad I found her. In our initial meeting, she knew opposing council well and it showed later in the process. She also knew my previous lawyer and pegged that one pretty accurately. When al...l was finished, she took out her notes from our initial meeting that listed all the items I stated I had hoped to get, and she checked off each one. Done. Her office staff is pleasant to deal with, as is Ilana herself. But she is definitely no pushover.

Before I hired Ilana as my attorney I had custody of my child, and the other parent had 16 hours of visitation a week, after I hired Ilana I lost custody of my child. Ilana isn't as experience dealing with CPS as she says she is. She also is not experienced dealing with cases where abuse is involved.... She was reluctant to bring to court witness experts. During the time my child custody issue was still in court I was advised by her/ her staff to do somethings that hurt my case instead of help me. When she saw the case was getting more complicated she withdrew from my case. Before she left my case, the other attorney had asked her for dates to go to court but instead of going to court with me she withdrew and I had to go to court unrepresented (I couldn't get an attorney within a week). I then lost custody of my child. I had to hire another attorney now to get back custody of my child and it is costing me a fortune to undo the mistakes that she advised me to do. She contacted my new attorney to let him know that I still had a balance with her. I had a balance with her (after paying over 30K) and she charged my bank account without notifying me that she was going to do it. The contract she asks you to sign says that she can charge your credit card on file, that I am not sure how she gets that information, probably when you make the electronic payments on the link that she gives you (but that is just a guess). She may be a good attorney in simple cases, but if you need to proof that your kid or you are in danger she may not be the best attorney for your case. She is definitely not an attorney I would recommend to a friend.

Ilana and her wonderful team helped me through one of the most difficult and scary moments of my life. Her confidence, knowledge, and just the right amount of humor helped get me through. Ilana is professional, knowledgeable and efficient. Her team was available for questions and helped to guide me t...hrough our options and the process. Her office is welcoming, comfortable, and easy to access, and it is only a block or two from the courthouse (we all walked to the courthouse together on the day of my hearing). Parking is readily available at the office. As a father who is ready and willing to fight to the end for my kids, Ilana has been a great partner to help me when I needed it. I hope that I don't find myself needing her services again, but if I do, I know where to call.

My family hired Ilana to take care of a serious matter involving child custody. Initially, it was so confusing and scary. I know I may sound like a paid commercial, but I'm not!!! Just trust and believe me she is WELL worth any dollar amount. I will never hire any other attorney for my family law matters. She is and continues to be EVERYTHING we need! HIRE HER!!!
