Child Perspective

Many of these reviews appear to be parents, but i am writing from a child's point of view. Cynthia is apart of the "Kids For Cash" scheme sprouting all throughout St. Louis family court. This scheme can be vaguely described as GALs across the St. Louis areas, are placing children in toxic homes, in o...rder to prolong the court case, to get more money. There is so much more to that, though I started researching this when i had my own experience with Mrs. Albin. I was put into an extremely toxic environment and had to endure extreme amounts of mental and physical abuse. As much as I would try and voice my opinions to her, my words would get twisted to make me appear as if i was insane. Later, I found out that Cynthia was being paid under the table by my abusive father, which is very illegal, to sway the case. Cynthia has forever put damage in my life, so that she could pad her pockets. I often wonder how a mother could do this to another child. Do not consider Cynthia if you want your kids to be placed in a loving, safe environment.

Awful experience

I do not recommend Cynthia Albin if children are involved. She did not listen to me or my child. My poor child is having horrible problems now, is very depressed and is mentally abused. It was the worst choice of my life to allow her to work on my kids case. Please do not hire this lawyer if you want... something done, or if you want to be heard.

Incompetent and incommunicative

I retained Ms. Albin to file for an adjustment on my child support payments. A very straightforward process. When we met, she said that the guidelines for child support had been drastically reduced, and I expected this to be a fairly easy process. After I turned in my initial papers, I received... an email from her that said "I see you got all your papers in. Does that mean that you and your wife have reconciled?" I was confused, and wrote back saying so. Her response was "Oh, I'm so embarrassed. I confused your name with someone else." This made me apprehensive, but I thought it was one mistake, let it go. Then, after my ex-wife got her papers into Ms. Albin, I receive an email saying "this doesn't look good. Your ex and you are not on the same page. I don't know how you are going to pay for the children's college education." After reading this, I was totally flabbergasted and confused. She said I could call her the next day at noon to discuss. I did, she was unavailable. I wrote her two emails, she didn't respond. Whether my ex and I are "on the same page" has nothing to do with the amount dictated by the state that I should be paying. And college expenses? We did not even discuss this. Very unorganized and unprofessional attorney.
