I spoke with a two other attorneys before I contacted Mr. Oswald about defending me in DUI and drug posession cases. I know he would not have taken my case had he not believed it to be a gross injustice and violation of my legal rights. This case was not only about proving my innocence against the charges, but to advocate for those who suffer from mental illness all over Wisconsin. I was facing a DUI conviction. But, the breathalyzer test resulted in HALF the legal limit. As well, I passed every field sobriety test. The ADA wanted to convict me because I was also taking my prescribed anxiety medication, which is NOT against the law. This was a prime example of targeting people with mental illness for “impairment” because they take their prescribed medications as directed.
