Impressive

I had only consulted with Mr. Lescht and hadn't yet hired him to represent me against my agency. I realized that I was about to miss a very important deadline to move forward with my complaint due to my own oversight. Even though I hadn't hired Mr. Lescht, he responded right away to my urgent ema...il with guidance and provided me an appt for the next morning where he completed the documentation. It was only because he responded, though he was not on retainer, that I was able to continue my complaint. I am extremely grateful to Mr. Lescht. It's obvious to me it's not about money, but ensuring that justice prevails.

Lawyers care ONLY about Money; Play games with peoples lives & could care less about Justice

Upon meeting Alan Lescht I was in less than a good mood. I advised him that I wanted a straight forward attorney; no bull. He concurred. Not long after signing on for his representation I was placed with his associate. I did not pay $250.00/hour to be assigned to his associate. She was nice but........at any rate, I found that I needed a pit bull of an attorney and yet got far less. I was suing a very unethical bunch of scum lords and they required a strong, determined, take no prisoner type of adversary. Alan Lescht failed to; chose not to tell me that I could file an appeal to the judges ruling. If he is so professional why didn't he have this conversation with me. When I contacted him to ask how I lost the case (I want to know this), he ignored my request. I have little respect for attorney's and dealing with too many simply brought about this disdain.

consult

I sought info on obtaining representation on an EEO case from Mr. Lescht. I first contacted them and recieved guidance from the secretary (who I agree was very nice) to send in my EEO summary. I did and heard nothing back for a month. I called in again asking and was told they would find my paper...work and get back to me that day. They did not, so I called again the next day. At this point they say yes we can help you, tell me about retainer fee and consult price. I say ok lets do a consult. We schedule a phone appt.and after an hour past appt. time I call them. They say we tried to call and we find they had my number wrong (it was clearly written with my eeo summary info). So I get patched through to the actual lawyer and he is just like "What questions do you have for me?" So I do my best to just basically get to the point of "Do I have a case?" I got some this is good, this will hurt you- but I don't feel like I really got a straight answer. So then basically it came to "Well all you sent me was your EEO summary." Which I understand there is a lot more info than that to the case, BUT... that's all they told me to send! So then he tells me about fees for retaining plus hourly fees (which the lady before didnt mention) and says he'll send an email. I get the email and then it's retainer fees, hourly fees + a percentage of the settlement- which by the point that is all taken I feel like there wouldn't be much left in it for me! So... I feel like the 13 minute phone consult for $300 was just slightly higher than worthless for the money. I wish I would have gone to someone in person and been able to sit down with the paperwork with them- then maybe I would have gotten some guidance on my case.

DC Practice

After shopping around the DC area for an attorney to discuss a potential claim, I originally chose my consult to be with Mr. Lescht as he was the quickest attorney to get back to me. Per his very specific question in response to my draft statement in addition to prodding from his assistant, Joyce, r...elated to how I had documented my situation and prompted thinking about what I would want once this was brought to court, I was hopeful that I would potentially have a case. Therefore, I decided to pay the rather hefty consult fee. However, within five minutes of the "consult," Mr. Lescht indicated that I definitely did not have a case and proceeded to just informally chat with me. I kept trying to prod him back to the subject of the potential case, yet, it was clear that he did not think I had a case and just tried to get me to leave his office as quickly as possible. An easy $300 for 30 min of chit chat. I didn't even get the full hour. After this exposure in addition to the other law firms that I had contacted, I wish that I had just paid the $195 for phone consult with another law firm or wish that the law firms wouldn't lead me into thinking that I actually had a case. Overall, really unfortunate that I am already extremely frustrated and this exposure to DC attorneys did not appease these emotions.

Incompetent and indifferent

Mr. Lescht was incompetent and apathetic to concerns of his client, offering milk toast response to reprisal only after being prompted to act. He was far from a zealous advocate in my matters. his comments also reflected his sympathy to those doing the discrimination and reprisal. I fired him and his... firm for cause. Judge Blackburne-Rigby and her special counsel David Guo were advised regarding the substandard work of Mr. Lescht and his firm, Alan Lescht and Associates. He and his firm only offered excuses for their substandard work. I requested my item so I could move on. They continue to delay
