Molly’s review of Leon Matchin’s services

I think Leon gave me the best outcome for my charge of a DUI while driving under the age of 21. My license was only suspended for one month which is best case scenario. He was quick to explain legal concepts and phrases with me so that I understood exactly what was happening the entire process.

Good Lawyer - I would recommend him to others.

I had a pleasant experience working with Mr. Matchin. I was arrested in NJ for possession of cannabis with the intent to use. After a few months, Leon was able to get my case dismissed with little effort on my part. I live in California so not having to travel back and forth for court dates, and not ...having to plead guilty and be put on probation for a year was a blessing. I took away one star as sometimes it was difficult to communicate with him. I understand that emails like texts aren't the best as it can lead to a lot of misinterpretations- but none the less, it seemed like at times he was frustrated with me for asking questions. I'm big on being in the loop, and being informed of everything from point A to B - after explaining to him my concern as a first time "criminal offender" (of any kind) and that I felt that I had the "right" to ask, as I did hire him, he no longer gave push back. Despite this minor complaint, I am satisfied with my service. He is also helping me expunge the arrest record at no additional cost. Bonus!! I'd recommend him to anyone else who may be dealing with the NJ criminal court system.

Money scammer

Don't hire him. Me and my wife dealt with him. He hung up the phone on us several times , he has incorrect information but is extremely condescending and a terribly uneducated , dumb attorney . I believe the positive reviews are fake done by him or his relatives . He will over charge you also and pus...h you into giving cc info right there and then we paid and regret it now in hindsight . Terrible result for a criminal charge

Didn't even try

I retained this attorney for a DUI charge where I was beaten by the police and pepper sprayed 3 separate times throughout the course of the arrest and detainment. Once while I was handcuffed and already in the back of a police car. And twice while I was handcuffed, shackled and chained to a bench in ...the holding area. I never resisted arrest. There was no resisting arrest charge. Just DUI and reckless driving tickets. But the police admitted they saw me get into my car and already believed I was drunk, then followed me for a mile. (Which seems to me would be reckless policing.) But conveniently they claimed the cameras did not work in any of the police cars or in the station that night. They admitted I did not give a breathalyzer test because of the way they handled me. And Mr Matchin said that the loss of my license for 3 months and over $4,000 in fines and surcharges was the best he could do for the $5,000 I paid him. They admitted to having no evidence and handling the arrest improperly! You are better off with a public defender than this attorney.

Although you're dissatisfied with the result, the likely outcome post trial considering the State's evidence against us would have been worst.

POOR Defence

3 years ago I had a charge which is called interference for simply questioning a cop. Apparently, this is equivalent to a misdemeanor. Anyway, Leon didn't do nothing. All he was saying that he'll talk to a cop. I don't care about the cop. I would love if you would present the case to the judge clearl...y. In any case, the charge was dismissed after I paid the fine of $1000. On the top of it I paid another 2K for Leon's commissions that he did not deserve at all. Anyway, long story short: Poor lawyer, Takes your money and does not do nothing. Don't expect great work. Please look for someone else.
