I had a clean driving record for nearly 30 years, but made a stupid mistake a few months ago and got charged with a DUI. After blowing a .15% BAC on the Breathalyzer, I was facing a 7-12 month license suspension, which would probably have cost me my job, as well as the expensive and inconvenient ins...tallation of an ignition interlock device. I contacted Travis and had a short but informative conversation with him, and as a result, as well as considering his positive online ratings, retained him to defend me. Travis used his knowledge and experience to buy me some time to get my affairs in order before sentencing. He also recommended I hire an expert witness that he knew could make a case against the validity of the Breathalyzer test. He was up front that there was no chance he could get my case dismissed, but thought there was a chance of getting the penalties reduced to a "Base" DUI; 3 month suspension and no interlock device. Under the circumstances, I took his advice readily. Shortly before the final hearing, Travis advised me that he might not be able to get me the reduced sentence. He was concerned that the arresting officer did everything by the book, and that there weren't any obvious problems with the Breathalyzer test. I was naturally extremely disappointed and concerned, and asked Travis to do the best he could for me. He promised he would. And he delivered. After meeting with the prosecutor, with whom he acknowledged he had a good working relationship, and the arresting officer, who conceded I was cooperative during the incident, Travis was able to get me the Base DUI. Again, this almost certainly saved my job. I can't thank him enough. If you need an attorney to coddle you and hold your hand every step of the way, I'd go elsewhere. But if you want someone who is honest, direct and will fight hard to achieve the best possible result, I completely recommend Travis Tormey.
