Employment & Labor advice session

Was very helpful and answered all my questions that I had on my contract. You most defiantly use this website again.

Great Communication!

A quick call to Ms. Wong straightened out a lot of the questions I had concerning an employment issue. She was helpful and attentively listened to details of the story I laid out. She asked a few pointed follow-up questions and outlined a potential billing profile. We exchanged of few emails that wer...e poignant and actionable. While I didn't need to use her services I got enough input to make a better choice in the end. She was integral in educating me about the information I had to work with and was able to parse out what she would need to continue. She engendered trust and showed her skill in consultation enough for me to want to use her in any future employment endeavor. Including just signing those initial pesky contracts. :) =s=

Mixed Feelings

They are honest about their approach to cases and how they represent their client's interest - they won't pursue something just to get paid when they thought something wouldn't help me, transparent about costs and expectations, usually timely - communications and documents that need to be filed meet ...deadlines and don't sit, aware, know the labor law, and know how to comply within the employer labor code system. Initially Ada and her plan for my representation made my life easier. But then her customer service became terrible and she nor her partner alerted me of my full breadth of options, what they had the ability to do for me, and what I would need to find a different firm for. This risked my employment and my statute of limitations. I only recommend this attorney to someone like me who has already had an attorney, who is good at critical thinking, and who has evidence a mile high. This is not a good attorney for someone in trauma who struggles to focus or to explain themselves.

$525 for a consultation is crazy

This practice offers extremely costly consultations ($525/hr) for junior lawyers. I talked to at least 3-4 other attorneys who offered complimentary consultations, 2 of whom told me never to pay for a consultation as it indicates a firm that uses it as part of their business model because they can't ...drum up enough clients. $525/hr for a consultation is also just an absurd amount when most local employment lawyers are charging $300-350/hr when they actually work on your case.

Disappointing Initial Consult

I had a disappointing initial consult with Ms. Wong. She deducted 30 minutes from the one hour paid consult to read my notes, which then didn’t leave much time for discussion. I did not find her engaging. She did not actively offer references or options. I did not get any value from the consult.

Our process for consultations is standard and transparent. We let everyone know that they can send any documents in advance of the consultation, which I take no more than 30 minutes to review so we have at least 30 minutes for the consultation call. People can also opt to not send any documents in advance and have a full 1-hour consultation. Your notes were helpful for our call and provided good background information. I provide my honest assessment for all cases, which unfortunately isn't necessarily what everyone wants to hear, and I understand that. I am sorry that you felt you did not receive value from my honest opinion.
