Assault 4 Case Dismissed in 6 Weeks

If you want a highly skilled and professional attorney who genuinely cares about your criminal case, I can't recommend Liza Burke enough. I hired Liza after having been charged with 2 counts of assault 4 as well as having incriminated myself at the time of arrest. Despite facing a very tough prosec...utor, Liza's persistence and mastered skills, ultimately led to the outright dismissal of my case prior to pre-trial.

The lawyer you want, the results you need

I reached out to Liza after speaking with multiple attorneys in the area. After speaking with her briefly, she easily stood out from the rest that I spoke with. I hired her the next day. Throughout the legal battle, we received curveball after curveball. Surprisingly, Liza didn't even worry and squas...hed each and every challenge that came our way. She was successful in winning our case, sticking to the facts, and keeping my emotions at bay. Her responsiveness was impressive, attention to detail was impeccable, and her strategic approach was so effective. If you are needing a lawyer and find this review, this a sign. Hire her! You will never second guess yourself after doing so.

A pleasure to work with

Liza was attentive from day one, she was in control of deadlines and mandates, and was also diligent about preparing me for the next step throughout the process. Liza was very easy to work and communicate with, she was predictable, reliable, and a calm voice of reason in my time of uncertainty. ... I had a total of 3 court appearances. At no point did I say more than my name due to circumstance. Outside of the hours spent both waiting, and appearing in court, I could tell Liza had been both vested in and diligent with her preparation. Her ability to express my emotions surrounding the event(s) was one of the things I was very happy with. Regardless of how my verdict would go, I was listening on the final day truly appreciative of Liza's presentation on my behalf. I felt she was respected by the Judges/commissioners, by myself, and by everyone involved. Fortunately, Liza was able to win my case, I'm now able to sip champagne in celebration rather than defeat. (not that anyone wins in court) Liza, thank you for everything, I truly appreciate you. Don't be surprised if you see a Christmas card in the mail. Thanks, Rob

The absolute best person to have in your corner.

Liza helped my boyfriend and I through a very unfortunate event which resulted in my arrest for domestic violence. With a lack of understanding for the domestic violence laws that apply when the police are called in Washington State -- we found ourselves in a situation where my boyfriend was worried ...about my mental wellbeing after I learned of a serious breach in trust. When the police came, they asked about a broken a picture frame and several other small items. Ultimately they arrested me for domestic violence (mandatory in WA state) and property destruction. My boyfriend pleaded telling them that is not what he was seeking in this. But alas, on top of one of the most emotionally hurtful personal betrayals of trust, I was now going to spend the night in jail. I was in beyond disbelief and did not handle the situation well. Later when i went before the judge, I learned they had tacked on 4 other charges -- one of which being assault of an officer (for stepping on his foot by accident-- I am 5ft weighing 105 lbs) It was a nightmare. This was my first arrest ever. My boyfriend went before the judge telling him this was a huge misunderstanding and that I was not violent and that he was simply worried about me driving and my well being. Despite that, I was released and given a 3 year no contact order with my boyfriend pending my court date. My boyfriend hired Liza to represent me. Upon our first meeting Liza was very upfront about the fact it would be extremely challenging to have 5 charges dropped -- despite the absurdity of them all. She urged me to immediately sign up for alcohol classes 3x per week and start seeing a personal therapist in the month leading up to my first court appearance. I did those things. We asked for a continuance at the first appearance, the prosecutor came back with an offer to drop all of the charges except assault of an officer with an SOC agreement, we didn't take that offer (in body cam footage there was no proof of this), Liza asked for one more continuance, then ultimately she worked a deal with the prosecutor to drop ALL of the charges at the completion of my 4 months of alcohol classes (2x per week). The no contact order was lifted. After almost 5 months of emotional ups and down-- it was over. I was not going to have to enter an agreement with the state, meet with anyone, take more classes etc. And while hiring a great lawyer isn't necessarily cheap -- neither is the alternative of taking mandatory classes or therapy that cost $100 a session, multiple times a week, over the course of years. Liza was such an amazing advocate for me during this time. She was open to any questions any time, willing to explain things to me as many times as I needed. She was understanding, yet straight forward -- something I really appreciated. I would recommend Liza to anyone who finds themselves in a similar situation.

Falsely Charged w/ Felony Assault 2 DV

I found myself on AVVO.com looking for a Criminal Defense DV Attorney after a Nuclear Bomb went off in my life. My freedom and life, as I knew it, were in serious jeopardy. I was facing serious time in jail and a Felony conviction. I interviewed two attorneys. I am so thankful that I hired Liza! ... I hired her not only because of her reviews and experience with DV cases, but because, she told me that she was going to take time to get to know me and really understand the background of the case and why I had been charged. She did exactly what she said and cares about her clients and will fight hard to win your case. She has the skill, knowledge and expertise needed to communicate effectively with the prosecutor and ensure that he/she understands every detail of the case as well as she does. Within three months, my Felony Assault DV charge was dismissed with prejudice! In my eyes, Liza had performed a miracle. The prosecutors exact words were.." This case is dismissed in the interests of justice". Those words are rarely written by a prosecutor in a dismissal. Liza is directly responsible for that statement and I nor my family will ever be able to thank her enough! I HIGHLY recommend hiring Liza Burke to represent you. When it comes to your freedom and life, do not take a chance. Hire the best! Liza Burke is definitely one of the very best!
